The #EiffelTower is getting its most extensive facelift its most extensive facelift yet – 130 years after it was first built. The famed monument is being repainted gold in time for the 2024 #Paris #Olympics in what for some may be an unwelcome break with tradition. But it is not the first time France's most recognisable landmark has changed colour and its new golden hue is in fact what Gustave Eiffel had originally intended for his creation.
